Simon

Hi, I'm Simon. In 2006, four years after leaving a 17 year long career with Lex Service PLC to join a start up static caravan finance and warranty brokerage, I found myself stood in an empty office just outside Blackpool, having just watched the local bailiffs walk out with my desk, my laptop and every file, pen and pencil I owned, I could have been forgiven for feeling a little sorry for myself.

 
But to be honest it was the best day I’d had in 12 months and all I could think about was, ok so that’s how not to run a business. Yes, i’d run up thousands in debts, been threatened with everything from a punch on the nose to a spate at her majesties pleasure, but I felt strangely elated.
 
I’d played with fire, got a little burnt, but ultimately survived. With a few battle scars. 
 
Two years later, having sold my soul to the motor trade for another year in order to pay off my debts and been unceremoniously made redundant from a business I was making thousands of pounds a month for, I decided it was time to launch my very own digital marketing agency.
 
With the benefit of hindsight, 2008 wasn’t the best year to start a business, but my reasoning was, if I could survive a world financial crisis I could survive anything. 
 
18 wonderful years later I handed over operational control to my daughter, climbed into the back seat, and am now having the time of my life watching it blossom under her remarkable, but not totally unexpected, professional and diligent guidance. 
 
You will see me from time to time as I continue doing what I do best, getting under every bodies feet and making a nuisance of myself. 

Lauren

Hi, I’m Lauren, the Business Operations Manager (aka — the daughter of the boss, keeping things running day to day at Good Call).

I’ve been working with my dad for the past five years, starting out managing a single client campaign to now managing two incredible marketing experts while overseeing our client relationships.

After studying maths at university and spending ten years in hospitality, I struggled to find a career that truly suited my skill set. Marketing has been the perfect fit — it allows me to work with a wide range of businesses while putting my analytical skills to good use in reporting and strategy.

I genuinely love what I do and take pride in acting as an outsourced “in-house” marketing team for so many successful small businesses.

I’ve been in the digital ad space for a few years now, and I genuinely enjoy the challenge of turning budgets into growth. Whether it’s Google Ads, Meta, or anything in between, I’m here to make sure our campaigns perform their best.

Our Story

Good Call began in 2008 founded by Simon, who saw a clear gap in the market — a marketing agency dedicated to helping small businesses grow without the high agency costs.

His mission was simple: to offer honest, effective marketing support that delivered real results without breaking the bank.

That doesn’t mean growth happens without investment — effective marketing still takes time and resources. But at Good Call, we focus on getting the strategy right first. By testing, refining, and learning what works for each client, we make sure every pound is spent wisely before scaling up.

We don’t just point you in the right direction — we stick around to help you get there.

Over nearly two decades in the industry, Simon built long-lasting relationships with his clients — many spanning close to fifteen years — a testament to his genuine commitment to their success.

Good Call was also built with a long-term vision in mind: to create something successful that could one day be passed down to his daughters, Lauren and Rachel.

Now, Lauren is gradually taking over the day-to-day running of the business.

Working closely together, Simon and Lauren combine their strengths — Simon’s wealth of experience and proven strategies with Lauren’s people-focused approach and fresh perspective. Together, they continue to grow Good Call with the same purpose it started with: to help small businesses thrive.

After five years of working side by side, Lauren now leads Good Call into its next chapter — one focused on steady growth, adapting to an ever-changing industry, and continuing to give small businesses the support they need to succeed.
